The all new Hyundai Palisade is the Korean marque's flagship Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that brings exceptional comfort, technology and safety features.
Now available as the only trim in Singapore for $216,999 (inclusive of COE), with an Open Market Value of approximately $40,000, the Hyundai Palisade offers seating for eight occupants and ample cargo space with convenient features like One-Touch second row seats for fuss-free usage.
The boot space, with all seats in place, stands at 311 litres. Knock the second row seats down and space increases to 704 litres. In two-seater configuration, space is a whopping 2,445 litres - which more than enough for furniture shopping.
And unlike regular three-row SUVs, the Palisade offers an impressive space, both head and legroom, in the third row.
On the inside, the Palisade stands out with high quality materials used throughout, such as quilted leather seats and smooth woodgrain trim, creating a comfortable and luxurious ambience.
Cabin aside, the Hyundai Palisade sports a 3.5-litre V6 powerplant that churns out 275bhp and 336Nm of torque. These figures are delivered to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
According to Hyundai, efforts were made to reduce the SUV's NVH, with generous under-hood insulation, special sound-deadening carpets and powertrain tuning to deliver a smooth and linear response. However, that will only be confirmed once an in-depth review of the car is conducted sometime in May.
More relevantly, as a family SUV, the Palisade is equipped with several Hyundai SmartSense active safety and driving assistance technologies, including Blind spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Warning, which enhances driver awareness to the rear of the car. Using the system's radar sensors when reversing, the safety system can warn you if vehicles approach from the rear side.
Another impressive safety feature available on the new Hyundai SUV as standard is the Rear Occupant Alert - something particularly useful when kids are locked in the car unknowingly. What the car does is that it detects movements via an ultrasonic sensor and will sound off an alarm and automatically unlock the doors.
In terms of design, the gigantic SUV - which stands at 4,980mm x 1,975mm x 1,750mm (L x W x H) - has ample presence. Up front, the bold and wide cascading grille takes centre stage while separated composite headlamps and a vertically-connected forward lighting signature create a strong and striking frontal demeanour. The rear, on the other hand, emphasises on stability with the vertical LED taillight design.
