Ferrari releases new livery for 499P

Marking the anniversary of Enzo Ferrari's birth on 18 February 1898, Ferrari has unveiled a new livery for its 499P prototype car, which is set to compete in the Hypercar class of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
The design is said to be a display of innovation mixed with tradition. Hand in hand with the design, the colour scheme commemorates the last prototype to compete in the World Championship in 1973, Ferrari 312 PB.
Interestingly, Ferrari says the racing red exclusively designed for the new season was inspired by the F2007 used by Ferrari to compete in the 2007 Formula 1. The traditional Giallo Modena yellow also contrasts the red, creating an emphasis on the car's sculptural and dynamic lines, while the car's glossy paintwork apparently increases its visibility at night and in poor visual conditions.
For the 2024 season of the WEC, the two 499Ps will be driven by drivers from the Ferrari AF Corse team. Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Micklas Nielsen will drive car 50, while car 51 will be driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi.
