Kia U.K. has announced that it will extend its partnership with the U.K. Surrey Wildlife Trust for another two years, until minimally the end of 2025.
This partnership aids important conservation of nationally significant heathland and chalk grassland, alongside woodlands and wetlands. On top of the preservation efforts, Kia will also be implementing education efforts in the form of providing young people with reserve management training. The training equips them with the essential skills needed for future nature conservation across the U.K.
Over the three year partnership, Kia U.K. staff have already made an impact, spending several hands-on staff days to help with vital and practical conservation efforts. On top of this, both Kia and the trust have raised awareness on biodiversity and the important role it plays in Surrey.
Kia's work with the Surrey Wildlife Trust doesn't end here. Kia is now also recognised as a Foundation Partner of Surrey Wildlife Trust's most recent campaign, 'Save Surrey’s Nature'. The campaign itself works towards restoring and expanding Surrey's most diverse and threatened habitats.
The $1.4 million (£1 million) two-year drive is focused on long-term work to reverse the alarming loss of biodiversity in Surrey. This trust also aims to do more than merely meet the 30 by 30 goal to restore 30% of the U.K. land and sea for nature by 2030.
While the fundraising effort will have an initial focus on all habitats. It is set to progress into specific priority areas, including joining up Surrey's heartland habitats and work towards improving and extending Surrey's unique wetlands.
