Lamborghini reveals more of its Direzione Cor Tauri plan

Lamborghini has revealed new details of its new Direzione Cor Tauri decarbonisation programme.
The firm is aiming to reduce its total enterprise emissions by 50% per car by 2030 (compared to 2021 levels) and will do this by electrifying its model range while reducing emissions across its entire value chain.
First kicked off in 2021, the Direzione Cor Tauri programme has already seen the firm starting the hybridisation phase of its lineup with the launch of the Revuelto, the firm's first high performance electrified vehicle. Lamborghini states that it is now planning to launch a hybrid version of the Urus (read more about the Urus S here), while adding a second high performance electrified vehicle into its range to replace the Huracan.
The firm's first full electric model is additionally scheduled for a reveal come 2028. This car is preceded by the Lanzador concept car, which was presented at Monterey Car Week in 2023. A fully-electric Super SUV is also set to be unveiled in 2029.
On top of the electrification of its lineup, Lamborghini is also embarking on a host of initiatives to decarbonise production at and beyond its own facility. These include the opening of a Lamborghini Park in 2011 - a green haven where 10,000 oak trees have been plated to provide a natural habitat for wild fauna and to serve as a recreational space for local people and staff.
The firm has also implemented a sustainability rating system for its suppliers since 2019. The rating system assesses Lamborghini's suppliers and their level of compliance with environmental, social and governance standards. The transport of vehicles and spare parts to and from Sant'Agata Bolognese and various markets has also been improved: Over the last five years, the firm has increased its use of rail transportation while reducing air transport for the transfer of finished vehicles.
Lamborghini is additionally investing in its staff as part of the Direzione Cor Tauri programme. The firm is planning to employ up to 500 new staff by 2026 and is also raising staff well-being through a new Lamborghini Feelosophy programme that is said to extend to contexts including parenting, physical and mental wellbeing, as well as nutrition. Lamborghini will also be providing more opportunities for staff training and introducing new management programs to advance the personal and professional growth of its staff.
