MG has announced that its Cyberster is now ready for order, with first U.K. deliveries anticipated to begin in August.
The single motor, rear-wheel-drive MG Cyberster Trophy features scissor doors alongside a fully-electric fabric hood which can be opened and closed in 15 seconds at speeds of up to 48km/h. With 335bhp worth of power and a maximum torque of 475Nm, the Cyberster Trophy goes from zero to 100km/h in just 5.0 seconds.
The Cyberster GT, the marque's new flagship and most powerful model yet, delivers a total 496bhp paired with 725Nm of torque. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive GT sprints from zero to 100km/h in only 3.2 seconds.
Despite the difference in performance, both the Trophy and GT are fitted with the same four drive mods: Comfort, Custom, Sport and Track. Each Cyberster comes equipped with not just a luxurious but also technologically advanced cabin with features such as six-way electrically-adjustable heated seats with memory function and electric lumbar support, a heated steering wheel with four-way adjustability and twin paddles.
To further maximise the pleasure and comfort of long distance roof-down motoring, a specially-designed wind deflector is positioned between the front seats.
Both the Trophy and GT share a 77kWh battery which gives the cars a maximum range of 508km and 444km for the 'Trophy' and 'GT' variants respectively. On top of this impressive range, the GT can be charged from 10% to 80% state-of-charge in only 38 minutes.
Both Cybersters underwent an extensive 18-month performance and handling development programme in the U.K. This resulted in a powerful roadster with a chassis optimised for both the U.K. and continental driving which offers high-levels of refinement and genuinely sporty driving experience.
Each Cyberster is equipped with Brembo brakes as well as three-mode regenerative braking, maximising energy efficiency and extending the driving range, The Trophy is fitted with a 19-inch alloy Lightning-design wheel while the GT wears a 20-inch Jetstream-design shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
When the twin scissor doors are opened, the driver and passenger are greeted by a classic two-seat configuration of a British roadster. The cockpit also features a wraparound three-screen cockpit with a 10.25-inch driver display accompanied by two 7.0-inch displays. On top of this, a colour display is mounted on the centre console, providing touchscreen access to the dual-zone climate system. The infotainment system of the car, meanwhile, supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay alongside voice recognition.
Customers in the U.K. can opt for one of the five exterior colour choices, which, when paired with the roof fabric colour options, means customers will have a total of 32 different combinations to choose from.
