Skoda reveals new Gran Turismo concept

Skoda has unveiled its own Vision Gran Turismo, an all-electric concept car for the Gran Turismo 7 racing game designed to expand the firm's presence in the digital racing world.
The concept car is said to draw inspiration from the 1957 Skoda 1100 OHC Spider, but its drivetrain is anything but old.
Under the car's angular exterior is an 87kWh lithium-ion battery which feeds a total of four electric motors, each said to be able to deliver up to 268bhp. These motors also allow the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo to offer up a peak torque of 1,020Nm.
A pushrod-type suspension, similar to those employed in Formula E, is also employed in the concept, said to reduce body roll and lower the vehicle's centre of gravity.
But what you're really here for, of course, is the car's stunning exterior. The open-top single seater is completely different from the practical and spacious Skoda's you're more familiar with. The Skoda Vision Gran Turismo instead takes the form of a low and elongated body and comes with plenty of sharply drawn lines and defined edges. At the rear, there also rests a striking split rear wing, for outstanding handling, even at speed.
The green matte exterior finish which you see in the photos takes after the one utilised on the Vision 7S concept car, although players will also be able to pick a second colour scheme which has been inspired by the Skoda 130 RS that took a double victory in its class at the 1977 Monte Carlo Rally.
The driver sits in the middle of this body within a minimalist digital cockpit, and gets an adjustable sports bucket seat which is equipped with a six-point harness finished in Red Orange, said to have been designed in collaboration with a few experts of the Gran Turismo title.
