Hong Seh Motors, the former Ferrari and Maserati dealer in Singapore, signed a strategic framework agreement with Farizon Auto, a new energy commercial vehicle manufacturer established by Geely Holding Group on 6 October 2023.
The two companies plan to introduce almost 1,000 electrified commercial vehicles of various body styles, including pick-up trucks, minibuses and other heavy goods vehicles, into the Singapore market over the next three years.
Farizon is the market leader of the new energy commercial vehicle industry within China, with cumulative sales volume far exceeding the combined volume of the second and third-ranked competitors. As of May 2023, Farizon has produced 150,000 new energy commercial vehicles, and it is moving to establish itself in key markets outside of China including Asia Pacific, Middle East and South American markets.
The first model from Farizon is expected to arrive in Singapore in the fourth quarter of 2023, with Hong Seh as the authorised distributor. This model is the H9E truck, which will be available in three variations - a 14-footer short wheelbase version, a 20-footer long wheelbase version, along with a freezer truck variant. The H9E is Farizon's best-selling electric light truck and it is expected to have a very useable range of over 400km.
Other interesting products to be expected from Farizon includes the brand's new electric van, the SuperVan. Computer-generated imagers and videos of the SuperVan were shown at the signing ceremony. This futuristic-looking van is not only designed to be environmentally friendly, but also for maximum practicality and ease of use - a video shown during the ceremony highlighted the designer's focus on creating a comfortable environment for the driver with Farizon products. As such, the SuperVan will feature a large 12.3-inch infotainment display for a clear reversing image within, and it also adopts a B-pillar-less design on its side to achieve a 1,500mm lateral loading space for easy loading of goods. Mass production and delivery of the SuperVan is expected to begin in 2024 and it is destined for global markets.
With this collaboration, Hong Seh Motors makes another bold step towards its electrification journey, which started in 2018.
