Nearly two years since the reveal of the MINI Aceman concept (catch our coverage of the concept car when it arrived at the 2024 Singapore Motor Show here), the firm has now fully unveiled the series production version of the all-electric crossover.
The new model in the MINI lineup measures in at 4,070mm long and 1,754mm wide, placing in right between the MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman which were unveiled in September of 2023.
Just like these two models, the MINI Aceman comes with a new octagonal grille, which is finished in Vibrant Silver or gloss Jet Black. This grille sits between two angular head lights - so you'll be able to immediately distinguish it from the MINI Cooper hatchback which sports round ones.
Just like the rest of the MINI lineup, the Aceman also gets upright taillights that offer three switchable light signatures. Also present here are flush door handles, distinctive wheel arches, as well as tall sills - to give the car a slim and upright appearance.
At launch, the MINI Aceman E will be offered with two different drivetrains. The first MINI Aceman E will come with a 42.5kWh battery, which animates a 181bhp electric motor that also generates a peak torque of 290Nm. This drivetrain will give the crossover a WLTP range of 308km and a century sprint time of 7.9 seconds.
The MINI Aceman SE, meanwhile, comes with a 54.2kWh battery that powers a 214bhp electric motor, which will see the car sprinting from zero to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds, and offering a WLTP range of 405km.
The MINI Aceman E can be charged at a maximum power of 75kW, while the MINI Aceman SE can take on charge at up to 95kW.
MINI is offering customers a total of three different trim levels for the Aceman, with the first 'Classic' trim offering what is described as a 'reduced' overall appearance designed to highlight the car's key elements.
The 'Exclusive' trim, meanwhile, finishes the car with the silver front grille alongside a wider range of exterior paint colours which include the new Indigo Sunset Blue and Rebel Red. Finally, the 'Sport' trim will finish the car with a JCW badge, alongside a host of gloss black trim and red/black bonnet stripes as well as a contrasting Chili Red roof.
The crossover will additionally sport the 240mm round OLED display as featured in the MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman. This display operates on MINI Operating System 9, and is additionally supported by a voice assistant which can be activated by saying "Hey MINI!". Interactions with the system are further visualized via Spike - MINI's virtual canine companion.
The system will also offer access to the MINI Connected Store, which comes with an ever-evolving variety of practical and entertaining apps, including games, music and video streaming. Also featuring in the operating system is the AirConsole app, which will allow users to play games by using their smartphone as a controller.
First deliveries of the MINI Aceman are expected to commence in November 2024.
