Volkswagen has unveiled a new high-performance electric Bulli, the ID. Buzz GTX.
As the name suggests, the ID. Buzz GTX joins Volkswagen's all-electric GTX family, which currently comprises of the ID.3 GTX, ID.4 GTX, ID.5 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer.
The all-new ID. Buzz GTX comes in two wheelbases and can be had in two battery sizes. Customers are additionally able to opt for three different seating options. The standard wheelbase is available as a five or six seater, while the long wheel base is available as a seven seater.
Underneath the seats, two electric motors work together in the ID. Buzz GTX to give the car all-wheel drive. These motors also give the ID. Buzz GTX a combined output of 335bhp, allowing the car to reach 100km/h from a standstill in 6.5 seconds. The top speed of the car, meanwhile, is electronically limited to 160km/h.
Customers will also be able to opt for either a 79kWh or a 86kWh battery with their ID. Buzz GTX. Both these batteries can be recharged from 10% to 80% state-of-charge in 26 minutes at direct current fast charging stations at power rates of up to 185kW or 200kW respectively.
Those who opt for their car with the normal wheelbase will be able pull a trailer weighing up to 1,800kg, while those who opt for the long wheelbase variant can pull trailers up to 1,600kg.
At the front, the new addition to the GTX family sports a black honeycomb design grille alongside new side air guide elements at either end of its front bumper. The car also sports Volkswagen's IQ. LIGHT LED matrix head lights here.
New daytime running lights have also been integrated on the left and right side of the bumper. Both the GTX lettering and exterior wing mirrors are additionally finished in high-gloss black on this ID. Buzz GTX. As standard, the ID. Buzz GTX is fitted with 20-inch alloy wheels, although two new 21-inch alloy wheel designs are also available.
A new Cherry Red exterior finish is also being offered exclusively for the ID. Buzz GTX. This solid paint finish can optionally by combined with Mono Silver metallic as a two-tone paint finish.
The interior of the ID. Buzz GTX is as impressive as its exterior. Underlining the power of the ID. Buzz is the use of dark tones (exclusive to this model) while the ID. Buzz GTX is acurrently the only model equipped with a black headliner in the GTX product line.
The ID. Buzz GTX also comes with electrically adjustable comfort seats with memory foam in the front, which are finished in a design exclusive to GTX models.
