Judging Criteria
Of the total of 98 cars in 32 categories that have been shortlisted in this edition of the
Sgcarmart Car of the Year competition, one car will emerge to hold the coveted title of
Sgcarmart's 2022 Car of the Year. The annual Sgcarmart Car of the Year recognises each car
manufacturer's efforts and creativity in bringing their cars to a higher level in terms of
design, efficiency, versatility and value for money.
Our judges will evaluate the cars based on a total of eight criteria. The first seven criteria are:

In order for fair competition to take place, Consumer Voting will hold a massive 65% of the total score, which means your votes play a huge role in determining the winners. About Car of the Year 2022
As we edge closer towards a post-pandemic world, 2022 has been a year marked by costs, automotive or otherwise. However, there is no slowing down the rapidly evolving automotive industry, and this 13th instalment of our annual Sgcarmart Car of the Year certainly reflects that.
Unsurprisingly, 2022 has seen even more electric cars being launched in Singapore, which is reflected in the doubling of categories on that front. And as we take stock of the way the industry is involving, EVs will continue to make up more and more of the cars on our roads.
The Car of the Year awards close out a busy year of ample change. As we continue to grow our media presence across all digital platforms (follow us on TikTok!), the dedication to delivering interesting, engaging and exciting content will never waver.
And beyond simply picking winners in categories, the Car of the Year awards is also an opportunity to recognise and highlight the various achievements from all the automotive brands, as well as to evaluate our continually evolving relationship with our vehicles.
