The average cooling system leak has a high velocity of coolant escaping relative to the size of the hole. Fibers in the BG Universal Cooling System Sealer are from six to ten times smaller than the passages found in the radiator or heater core. This precludes clogging, even if the passages are reduced to half their size through an accumulation of corrosion and scale.

This fluid motion from leaking coolant carries the suspended sealer particles to the rupture. As the particles are carried through the hole, they have a tendency to stick and build up. This buildup continues until the hole is completely plugged. Then the sealer fibers form a permanent type of patch.

Usage:

1. Shake the bottle vigorously before use.
2. For preventive maintenance, add one bottle of BG Universal Cooling System Sealer to the cooling system.
3. Do not overtreat. Run the engine to operating temperature for 10 minutes.
4. To stop an existing leak, add one 12 oz. (354 mL) bottle of BG Universal Cooling System Sealer to the cooling system.  Run the engine for 10 minutes. Make sure the heater valve is open. Replace the pressure cap after rinsing the radiator cap seat with clean water to ensure a proper seal. The leak should begin to slow immediately. Following a pressure buildup, complete stoppage should occur.
5. Add BG Universal Cooling System Sealer to the cooling system at a ratio of one 12 oz. (354 mL) bottle per 10–20 quarts (9–19 Liters) of coolant. Or one 8 oz. (236 mL) bottle per 8 quarts (8 Liters) of coolant. For larger radiators, use proportionately larger amounts. For smaller systems, use less. It is recommended for use in automobiles and all types of cooling systems not using coolant filtration equipment. Compatible with all cooling system components, including aluminum and plastic.
